My clients had spent many years living and working in the Middle East, and were keen to imbue their garden with the flavour of Islam. Following the principles of Islamic garden design, I created this small courtyard in one corner of the garden. At the same time, the rest of the garden was in need of restructure and interest, so an attractive summerhouse was placed in the opposite corner to the Islamic courtyard. This was linked to the existing patio by a winding cobbled path, that edged the extended flowerbed.
The planting throughout the garden has been renovated, and designed to provide colour, structure, and scent all year round, with bold, jewel colours used in the Islamic garden.
